The Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers entered in force in late 2011. Rules on food labeling shall apply from December 13, 2014 (provisions concerning nutrition declaration two years later). The Regulation shall apply to all foods intended for the final consumer and mass caterers. Practical implications of this new regulation were introduced by representatives of the standardization organization GS1 Czech Republic and the Federation of the Food and Drink Industries of the Czech Republic at a joint press conference.
